LNBio stands out for bioscience research, facing global health challenges. The Immunity and Pathogens research front offers a holistic approach to understanding and facing public health threats caused by microscopic pathogens.
The area of Integrative Biology works to investigate the fundamental mechanisms of life through a multidimensional and collaborative approach that integrates biological organization on different scales ranging from molecular structure to cell and tissue function. It is committed to generating fundamental knowledge and promoting innovations that will help us face challenges to human health.
The Advanced Health Technologies Division brings together strategic research fronts in proteomics, gene editing, tissue engineering, immunotherapy and biologicals. Its main mission is to meet demand from the research and development and innovation (RD&I) chain in health, strengthening the health economic industrial complex by discovering and validating high-impact technological solutions that can benefit the Brazilian population.
The Facilities and Services Division supports scientific excellence with specialized services and laboratories that are available to users in Brazil and abroad, and also plays an essential role in conducting, refining, and developing new experimental approaches. At LNBio, knowledge and innovation converge to make significant contributions to the Brazilian health sector.
The mission of the Drug Discovery Division is to enable radical innovation in pharmaceuticals in Brazil, through sustainable use of biodiversity in connection with cutting-edge science and advanced technology. This process takes place via a drug discovery platform that uses high technology including new frontiers for discovering and validating molecular targets.
Revealing the molecular mechanisms related to emerging viral illnesses and neglected diseases that lack measures for treatment and prevention, and have an especially strong impact on more socioeconomically vulnerable populations
Studying the fundamental mechanisms of life through a multidimensional and collaborative approach that promotes innovations to face challenges related to human health
