- Viral vectors laboratory (LVV)
About the facility
The Viral Vectors Laboratory (LVV) specializes in the production of recombinant viruses for research and biotechnology applications. The facility operates in a level 2 biosafety environment and is accredited by the National Technical Commission on Biosafety (CTNBio). LVV supports the production of non-replicating recombinant virus preparations, including murine retroviral vectors and human lentiviral vectors derived from HIV-1.
These systems are widely used for gene expression, silencing by RNA interference and generation of modified cell lineages. The facility contributes to the advancement of research aimed at understanding intracellular mechanisms and the development of gene and cell therapies applied to human health.
How to submit research proposals
Proposals must be submitted through SAU Online. In case of any doubt during the proposal submission, contact the CNPEM Users Office by email at edu@cnpem.br or speak to those responsible for the facility by writing to lvv@lnbio.cnpem.br.
