- Target Discovery and Validation
The Target Discovery and Validation research group focuses on identifying and validating therapeutic targets in order to develop new treatments for human diseases. The process begins with research to understand the molecular mechanisms of diseases such as neurodegenerative, cardiovascular, and metabolic disorders as well as cancer, selecting and validating relevant molecular targets to develop new therapies. This involves uses genetic and pharmacological target validation approaches, as well as the initial development of in vitro and in vivo models to interrogate them.
