- Biological Imaging Laboratory
About the facility
With a strategic role supporting research in life sciences, the Biological Imaging Laboratory (LIB) offers advanced solutions in cellular and subcellular imaging, with a focus on fluorescence microscopy and super-resolution techniques. The facility combines state-of-the-art infrastructure with qualified technical expertise, contributing to the generation of quantitative and visually resolutive data in various biological models.
The facility is equipped with confocal microscopes and super-resolution microscopes based on stimulated emission depletion (STED). The team is directly involved in training and supporting users, promoting the dissemination of good practices in microscopy and contributing to the methodological development of complex projects.
LIB also actively participates in national and international initiatives aimed at training and integrating imaging platforms, positioning itself as a reference center in Brazil for application and expansion of the use of advanced optical techniques in cell, molecular and structural biology.
How to submit research proposals
Academic researchers interested in conducting experiments using STED and confocal microscopy can submit their proposals through the SAU. Proposals for experiments are valid for one year and can be submitted at any time during the year. LIB offers complete scientific support ranging from experimental planning and the choice of analysis method to conducting assays, user training and preliminary data analysis.
To use LIB, you must submit a proposal via SAU Online. If you have any questions, please contact CNPEM’s User Office at edu@cnpem.br or the team responsible for the facility at coordenadoreslib@lnbio.cnpem.br.
