Wives of Canadian university presidents visited the Quero-quero project of the NGO Associação Anhumas Quero-quero, located at the Parque Ecológico, in Campinas.
The NGO is a partner of LNBio and Science House Foundation in the implementation of science laboratories for activities with kids and teenagers.
The NGO Anhumas Quero-quero provides after school activities for children from some underdeveloped regions of Campinas. The science laboratory project is one of the activities with the highest level of interest from the kids, and this interaction with LNBio scientists is already improving their school grades and writing skills, as remarked by the NGO coordinators.
A group of teenagers that participate at the Journalism group interviewed the visitors for their newsletter. During the visit, some of the kids observed bugs and fish embrios in the laboratory and a group presented a tap dance routine.
