REDEFAC

The National Network for the Development of Anticancer Drugs was created by the Brazilian Ministry of Health to boost  innovation in cancer research and meet the demands of the Brazilian Public Health System (SUS).  Its job is to search for innovative projects in  anticancer drugs among Brazilian institutions that may qualify to receive supervision and financial support. The other participating institutions are: National Institute of Cancer (INCA); Oswaldo Cruz Foundation (FIOCruz); National Bank for Economical and Social Development (BNDES) and the Studies and Projects Founding Agency (Finep).

Workgroup on Pharmacology

The Workgroup of the Reference Centers in Pharmacology was created by the Brazilian Ministry of Health in order to strengthen the structure for the performance  of pre clinical studies in Brazil. These studies are demanded by health authorities for the development of new drugs. The other participating institutions are: Center for Technological Development in Health (CDTS-FIOCruz RJ), Center for Pharmacological Research (CRF-CERTI UFSC), Nucleus for Medicines Development (NPDM UFCE) and the Royal Institute (Instituto Royal).

RENAMA

The Network for  Alternative Methods was created by the Brazilian Ministry of Science Technology and Innovation to promote alternative methods to the use of animals in the development of drugs and cosmetics. The group will certify  centers, train technicians, provide material resourses and develop and validate new assays. The other participating institutions are National Institute on Metrology (INMETRO – RJ) and Oswaldo Cruz Foundation (FIOCruz RJ).

SIBRATEC

Network for the Development of Nano cosmetics

The Brazilian Technology System (SIBRATEC), operated by the Funding of Studies and Projects (FINEP), works in the communication and the bringing together of the scientific and technological communities with the business sector. LNBIO and other CNPEM National Laboratories participate in the Network for the Development of Nano cosmetics of SIBRATEC, together with other R&D institutions and companies in this sector. This technological network may possibly develop cosmetics using nanotechnology.
